CBC Radio interviewed some RHS Physics students about their Passion Project. There is a time and place for theory, labs and word problems, but there is also a time and place for students to explore something passionate to them.
Three students wanted to help prevent secondary concussion injuries after a hit, but alerting the coaches or referees that a player has sustained a substantial blow to the head.
This is a great example of transdisciplinary projects, where competencies like communication, collaboration and creativity are intertwined with physics and engineering.
