The NB Dept of Education unveiled some of their significant work towards the next evolution of our Education System. It appears as though they are making bold and tangible steps to claiming the cutting edge of education in North America and Globally.
Part of their vision in the profile of a learner is Student Agency. They give three great examples including a community garden initiated at Bessborough Middle School, CurrentGeneration.org for Light Poverty and Climate Change associated with the flooding in Fredericton. The UN SDG’s seem to be a natural fit for students to develop Agency both locally and globally, with big and small initiatives that make a tangible impact and bring purpose to their learning.
