Matter-Antimatter

Allyson wondered if she might be an engineer. She was a little skeptical when I suggested she do an art sculpture. However, to do the art, she needed to learn how to: design in 3D, solder, series and parallel circuit calculations, coding and static equilibrium to suspend the sculpture. The art itself communicated particle physics as matter and antimatter spiral around magnetic field lines.

Making an electric manifold from a copper plate. Sometimes a mechanical method is quick. On a more complicated version, hand cut out and weeded a mask of packing tape and submersed it in ferric chloride (aq) which removed exposed copper by single displacement reaction.
Having to repair tools is also a common practice for an engineer and seeing if you like to troubleshoot abs tinker.
Designing holders in 3D takes some practice that late over lunch hour. Inspiration from friends is helpful.
