NSTA with Smart Tech

Thanks so much Smart, I had a great time! I learned a bunch of science for my school. I think I was able to provide a different perspective on why a teacher should want a SmartBoard while the rest of the team did a fantastic job trouble shooting for other booths that were using Smart and answering a million and one questions about how to click and rotate using the 3D cube.

Invited to Speak at NSTA: Indianapolis

Looking forward to visiting Indianapolis. An hour and a half is the longest time that I have ever been given to talk. Hoping to have some internet so I can use some social media during my talk Re my research using Multiple Smartboards in the Science Classroom.

Transform learning with collaboration

At NSTA, attend a complimentary session led by SMART Exemplary Educator
Ian Fogarty. He will discuss his research findings, which indicate that
using SMART products in science classrooms can lead to increased
collaboration, resulting in better student achievement. Fogarty will
show you how to transform your classroom into a hub of inquiry and
discovery.

Title – The Impact of Interactive Whiteboards on Science Learning

Summit 50 by C21 Canada

What a whirlwind 24 hrs. It started with great talks the night before with many of the delegates. Then today a more formal discussion of what we would like school to look like and identifying some of the obstacles. I really loved the talk by Charles Fadel when he showed a video clip that described leadership and followership using a dance in a field. I think many of us feel like we are lone dancers hoping that our time looking foolish alone will soon be over. This summit highlighted that we are not alone.

Looking forward to creating things with the many great delegates. If someone had told be that 3 years ago I would be here, I would have laughed. Here’s for taking chances and everyone on a while, taking a shot in the dark.

C21 Summit Invitation

A wonderful opportunity…

John Kershaw et al. just invited me to attend a summit on 21st Century Learning with 49 other delegates. I’m very excited and honoured. I expect it to be a great round table discussion about teaching and learning in the near and not so distant future. I know there will be lots of policy makers, administrators and business people. I wonder how many classroom teachers there will be?
